Onsite Requirements:
- Construction project management experience, ideally with SCIF
- Any experience related to electronic access control systems (ACS) or intrusion detection systems (IDS) would be preferred
- Strong communications and holds a Secret Clearance
Job Description:
- The Physical Security Specialist assists the Physical Security Manager in ensuring secure facilities are built and maintained in compliance with applicable regulations and specifications governing physical construction standards, physical and electronic access controls, and intrusion detection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor contractor performance at secure facility construction projects to ensure materials and methods used are in compliance with applicable guidance, specifications, and regulations.
- Supplement site access controls to ensure only authorized personnel access a secure facility construction site.
- Document secure facility construction progress in accordance with guidance provided by the Physical and/or Site Security Manager.
- Coordinate security system maintenance and locksmith services, including lock maintenance and associated escorting.
- Assist Physical Security Manager with installations and maintenance of access control and security management systems.
- Escort construction and/or physical security-related maintenance personnel within access-controlled areas as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in physical security, facility compliance, project management, or construction management.
- Knowledge of physical security standards to include but not limited to ICD 705, construction processes, and technical security systems.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills related to working with government officials, contractors, and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in security management, construction management, project management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of facility accreditation processes.
- Familiarity with government regulations and standards (e.g., ICD 705, TEMPEST).
- Proficiency in Lenel OnGuard administration and IDS/ACS hardware management.
- Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) certification.
- Experience in guard force training (contracted and proprietary).
